STORYLINE:

An art exhibition named "Artist's Pulse" is being held at the Lamasat Gallery in the Dokki area in Cairo, the Egyptian capital.

Paintings created by 60 artists from different backgrounds are showcased at the exhibition, which runs from June 29 to July 16.

"I'm Mayar from Gaza, Palestine. I participated in the exhibition at the Lamasat Gallery. I created this painting that talks about the Palestinian issue. The reason why her eyes are covered with the Palestinian scarf is because some people turn a blind eye to the issue."

SOUNDBITE 2 (Arabic): GHADA FARES, Artist
"I'm a graduate of English politics and economics. I work in a bank. Drawing is my hobby. The materials used in the paintings are acrylic. The painting of a woman in black is pop art. There are also gold leaves, which are on canvas."
