In a recent incident in northern India's Uttarakhand during the Kanwar Mela the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) successfully saved eight Kanwariyas from drowning.

The incident took place at Kangra Ghat in Haridwar on July 24.

Visuals captured the individual alongside the rescue officials after the operation. The officials, using lifeboats and life jackets, successfully rescued the stranded individuals.

Speaking to Newslions, SDRF Media Co-ordinator from Uttarakhand Control Room, Lalita Negi stated that SRDF Team personnel rescued Karan, 27, from Faridabad, Haryana, who was caught in the river's strong current while bathing. SDRF team members Pradeep Rawat, Ashiq Ali, Shivam Singh, and Lakshman Chauhan worked diligently to bring him to safety.

In a separate rescue at the same ghat, Rohit Nishad, 33, from Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, was saved by SDRF personnel Pradeep Rawat, Anil Kotiyaal, Lakshman Chauhan, and Sandeep Singh.

Another incident at Kangra Ghat involved Kanwariyas Nageshwar, 23, from Meerut; Priya, 19, from Fatehabad; and Pawan, 21, from Fatehabad. The SDRF team managed to rescue all three using a bag.

Additionally, SDRF members at Kangra Ghat saved Anshul Kumar, from Buggawala, Haridwar, and Rohit Nishad from Ayodhya, who were also found drowning.

In Rishikesh, near the Ramjhula pool, Kanwariya Sandeep, 25, from Haridwar, was saved by SDRF personnel who used a raft to reach him and bring him to shore.
