08/05/2024 12:37 am (GMT-0700) | PICO RIVERA, Calif. – Los Angeles County Sheriff Department from the East Los Angeles station were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle eastbound Washington Boulevard at Greenwood Avenue in the city of Commerce. LASD lost visual of the vehicle due to high-speed eastbound Washington Boulevard at Rosecrans Boulevard in the city of Pico Rivera. A deputy located a vehicle up against a building at East Washington Boulevard and Bequette Avenue and noticed it was the suspect vehicle that they were pursuing. The suspect driver was temporarily trapped inside the vehicle. LACoFD responded to the location and was able to free the driver. The suspect driver was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition. A passenger fled the scene northbound from the crash. Sheriff’s deputies did locate a backpack with ammunition inside, but no firearm. LASD had set up a perimeter to search for the passenger, but later canceled it. It is unknown at this time if there was any damage done to the building due to the crash.
