Out-of-control truck crashes into house in Malaysia
An out-of-control truck crashed into a house, narrowly missing a wife at a three-way junction.
The trailer truck skidded on the side of the road while approaching a tight curve before it rammed the property in Kedah, Malaysia on August 19.
CCTV footage shows the vehicle slamming straight into the house on the corner of the intersection.
Wife Shafiqa Shafie, 37, said she was in the bedroom when she heard the noise outside and fled to the kitchen to hide.
She said: 'I ran to the kitchen for safety. Once I realised the trailer had stopped, I rushed outside to get help from my neighbours.
'Debris from the crash fell into my bedroom. Alhamdulillah, I acted quickly to avoid it.'
Kubang Pasu district police chief Superintendent Rodhi Abu Hassan said they started an investigation and a full report will be released once it is completed.
He added: 'The incident involved a car and a motorcycle parked at the house.
'So far, only the trailer driver, a Thai national, has suffered minor injuries. The trailer has been seized while the driver is being held for drug tests.'
The front of the house was wrecked and damaged, and the family's car and motorcycle were parked outside.
Shafiqa's mother-in-law, Jerina Halil, 62, said the area is prone to accidents due to its location.
She said: 'We have made several complaints regarding safety but it just keeps happening again.'
