This is the shocking moment a patient arrives at the hospital carrying the same cobra that bit him in India.

The 40-year-old man, Hariswaroop Mishra, was attacked by the venomous snake in the Lakhimpur district of Uttar Pradesh on August 23.

He captured the serpent and took it with him to a Community Health Centre (CHC) in Palia.

Hariswaroop told local media that the cobra entered Hariswaroop's home and bit him on the hand.

Superintendent of the CHC, Bharat Singh, said: 'The man was a bit aware of basic things that a person should do after snakebite and he had even tied his left hand thumb tightly with a plastic string where the snake has bitten.'

'So, the venom had not spread much. His thumb had completely turned blue.'

The medical team quickly assessed the reptile and administered the appropriate treatment and antidote to counteract the venom.

Authorities confirmed that he was discharged safely, and the snake was released back into its natural habitat.

Cobras are commonly found in India and are known for their distinctive hood, potential danger, and venomous bite.
