On Sunday, August 25, 2024, the serene coastal landscape of Casal Velino in the Cilento region was pierced by the sound of rescue efforts as a man, injured under circumstances not yet disclosed, was airlifted to safety by the firefighters' helicopter unit from Pontecagnano.

The dramatic rescue unfolded when the fire department's aerial team was called into action. The helicopter, a symbol of hope in such dire situations, hovered in a fixed position as the rescue operation commenced. An elisoccorritore, or helicopter rescue worker, descended to reach the injured individual, providing immediate medical attention before the perilous ascent back to the aircraft.

With precision and under the watchful eyes of the crew, the injured man was safely hoisted aboard the helicopter.
