Kind neighbour saves stray dog trapped in storm Yagi flash flood in the Philippines
A kind neighbour saved a stray dog trapped in a home amid flash food brought by storm Yagi in the Philippines.
The good Samaritan Denmark Mendoza spotted the pooch in distress taking refuge in the front yard of a home when surging water battered across the street in Rizal province on September 2.
Footage shows the resident carefully crossing the fast-flowing deluge while holding a basin to save the canine.
Denmark and a companion tried to float the dog in the basin but it was scared so he carried it to safety instead.
Chelle de Asis who was watching the scene from her window on the other side of the street said: ‘I hope we also include the stray dogs during rescue missions.'
Tropical Storm Yagi brought heavy rains that triggered landslides and flash floods, killing at least 13 in the Philippines so far.
It made landfall in the northern part of the country in Aurora province and is expected to reach a peak category of typhoon later this week before moving towards southern China.
