This is the harrowing moment a building suddenly collapsed, injuring dozens of devotees at a religious procession in India.

Footage shows a dilapidated shed caving in during the Mahavir Akhara procession in the Ishauvpur block in Sahan district, Bihar, on September 3.

Police said the incident, which injured around 100 locals, unfolded as they gathered to witness dancing performances on the shed during the parade.

Devotees affected were rushed to a local government-run hospital for urgent medical attention.

The Mahavir Akhara procession is a traditional religious event mainly observed in Bihar. It involves the worship of Lord Hanuman, also known as Mahavir.

The event often includes various rituals, cultural performances, and the carrying of religious icons or statues through the streets, reflecting the devotion and cultural practices of the participants.
