The locals carried out a religious procession to ward off Covid-19 in central India's Madhya Pradesh on May 19. The incident took place in Niwari.

Visuals feature the locals participating in the religious procession during the Covid-19 curfew. They head towards a temple and elaborately display their devotion towards the deity. Instead of just joining hands, they lie on the ground in obeisance. Meanwhile, the cops try to convince them to go back and not risk the spread of the virus.

The locals in the region believe that medicines can not help with the Covid-19 pandemic. They think that only the almighty can ward off the virus and keep everyone safe. In the face of that, they organized a religious procession towards a temple in the region. However, the devotees flouted numerous Covid-19 protocols, and the police were unsuccessful in convincing them to stop.
