Timelapse footage shows floods engulfing homes in a courtyard in China.
Video recorded by Mr Zhang shows the rising flood in Shangzhou, Shangluo, Shaanxi on July 19.
He said that heavy rain in the mountainous region of his hometown had been ongoing for two weeks, leading to the deluge.
Mr Zhang added: 'In just two hours, a raging flood rushed forward like a fierce beast, instantly submerging the courtyard in front of the door.
'Watching the murky water continuously rise, my heart was filled with fear.'
The man also reported that numerous houses were washed away during the flood, leaving only broken walls and ruins.
The resident added: 'But I believe that as long as everyone works together, our hometown will definitely be rebuilt after the disaster and usher in a beautiful tomorrow again.'
The clip further shows debris, including broken wood, being carried away by the floodwaters.
Some regions in the country have been experiencing torrential rainstorms, causing heavy flooding and landslides.
