These are the moments of the natural phenomenon that occurred at Lake Tondano, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi, Indonesia, on September 9 2024.
Strong winds in the form of cloud columns and air flowing over Lake Tondano shocked residents.
Luckily, there were no fatalities in this incident because the tornado hit Lake Tondano. Not on the ground.
A tornado is a rapidly rotating column of air that forms a connection between a cumulonimbus cloud or, in rare cases, the base of a cumulus cloud, and a water surface or waterspout that is so strong that it can cause damage if it hits the ground.
