A schoolboy saved his friend who was pinned under a wooden bench that toppled over.

The youngsters were playing inside a home when one of them, nine-year-old Jake, slipped under the four-seater furniture while pulling its top in Sa Kaeo, Thailand, on September 16.

The heavy chair slammed backwards with Jake underneath before a bigger boy Four rushed to help.

CCTV footage shows the alert kid Four dashing across the room to lift the seat and free Jake.

The younger girls tried to help as they panicked while the Four maintained composure and waited until Jake moved away.

Mother Siriya Kanha said: ‘Jake was running around the house with his sisters and friends as usual. Their grandmother, who was watching them, was only away for five minutes when we heard the noise.

‘We thought Jake was only being naughty until the girls called us for help. We were relieved that their friend was there and acted fast.'

Siriya took Jake to the hospital, where he underwent an X-ray scan.

Medics said he had a fractured cheekbone from being hit by the bench but is recovering from his injuries.
