Heartwarming driver and delivery rider rescue blind woman on busy street in China
A heartwarming scene unfolded on a bustling street corner in Ningbo, southern China, on the afternoon of September 21. Amidst the constant flow of vehicles, a blind woman inadvertently wandered into the middle of a motorway, placing herself in imminent danger.
Fortunately, two passersby, a driver named Chen Weijie and a delivery rider Hu Xiaofu, simultaneously noticed the precarious situation and sprang into action without hesitation.
Chen Weijie, a young lawyer, immediately activated his hazard lights to alert approaching vehicles. Undeterred by the chaos around him, he quickly exited his car and attempted to steady the woman, guiding her away from the harm's way. Simultaneously, Hu Xiaofu, the delivery rider, upon recognizing the woman's distress, halted his bike and joined the rescue effort without a second thought.
Through their collective efforts, the blind woman was safely escorted to the sidewalk, out of harm's reach.
In recognition of Hu Xiaofu's bravery, the delivery platform honored him with the title of "Pioneer Rider" and awarded him a cash prize. Chen Weijie, humbly stated that he had merely done what was necessary and expressed his hope that more people would pay attention to the safety of visually impaired individuals when they are on the move.
