Heavy Waterlogging Disrupts Mumbai as City Records 88mm Rainfall, IMD Issues Red Alert

Visuals from near Shivdi railway station in Mumbai, filmed on the evening of September 25, show extensive waterlogging following heavy rains. Between 4 and 10 pm, Mumbai recorded 88mm of rainfall, leading to significant disruptions in train services and flight operations. Over 10 flights had to be diverted due to the adverse weather conditions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has upgraded its alert status for Mumbai and neighboring districts from orange to red, warning of continued heavy rainfall. Commuters and residents are advised to exercise caution as the city braces for more rain."
