A Thai roti pancake flew off a street food stall while it was being cooked during a storm.

Footage shows the pastry being flipped on a hot plate before it was blown away by strong gusts in Phang Nga province, Thailand on September 19.

One of the sellers caught it but it had a large hole in the middle, amusing the two women at the rolling store.

Vendor Kaiyah Sukanya said: 'We had to close shop earlier than usual because the wind was becoming stronger.'

The Thai Southern Meteorological Centre issued a warning for heavy rains and strong winds in the region that day with possible flooding.

Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are at the start of their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms. The rudimentary infrastructure often struggles with the deluge, leading to widespread flash floods.

Thai roti is a popular street food in Thailand, originally inspired by Indian roti, but adapted to local tastes. It is a type of flatbread made from dough that is stretched thin, fried on oil or butter, and typically served with a variety of sweet or savoury toppings.
