Munaily District, Kazakhstan - September 25, 2024

This is the moment when a driver's quick reactions help him to avoid hitting children in the road, but police fine him anyway.

The incident occurred on the road in Munaily District, southwestern Kazakhstan, on 25th September.

Surveillance camera footage shows a relatively empty road and two children running towards a pedestrian crossing.

The video shows that this is an unregulated pedestrian crossing where there are no traffic lights or warning signs; there is only a zebra crossing on the road.

At exactly the moment when the girls run out onto the zebra crossing, a car suddenly appears and the driver brakes lightning fast and turns the steering wheel to the left to avoid the kids before he skids to a stop.

This maneuver helped avoid an accident, but did not save the driver from a fine.
