This is the amusing moment an otter asked for fish at a makeshift 'checkpoint'.

Natthakit Tabtong spotted the animal looking at the fresh fish laid out on each counter in Ranong, Thailand, on September 27.

Footage shows the otter jumping onto the platform filled with fish. It then took a snack from the hand of a vendor and immediately walked away to munch on it.

The filmer said: 'It is his everyday routine to get his food from the vendors, but we don't mind. He is so adorable.'

Otters are carnivorous mammals that eat slow-moving fish and invertebrates such as crabs, sea urchins, abalones, clams, mussels, and snails.
