Playful wild otters swam outside flooded homes and even tried to steal a fish caught in a net.

Footage shows two otters following each other as they floated near the trapped fish at the foot of the wooden house on the side of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, Thailand, on September 7.

They swam away when a resident leaned from the window to watch them before joining the others in their bevvy.

The otters then glided to the middle of the river together.

Resident Mint Sumitta said: 'We went fishing the other day and left the cage outside. In the morning, my mother called me to come and see.'

Otters live in Chao Phraya River and its surrounding wetlands in Thailand. The Asian small-clawed otter and the smooth-coated otter are species known to inhabit the region.
