This is the moment a reptile catcher removed a rat snake from a family's bathroom.

Pawan Jogpal, also known as the 'Snake Man,' retrieved the oriental rat snake that was hiding in the washroom in Haryana, India, on October 18.

Footage shows Pawan splashing water onto the snake, which then frantically slithered away in search of an exit. He doused it with water again, prompting the animal to come towards him, and he effortlessly grabbed its tail.

He is seen walking out of the room, holding the wriggling reptile while conversing with the homeowner.

He said: 'I received a phone call from the homeowner, and I immediately went there to catch the snake. I then left it in the forest.'

The oriental rat snake is a non-venomous reptile that can grow up to two metres (6.6 feet) in length.

Pawan Jogpal has rescued over 5,000 snakes, despite being bitten multiple times, including by a cobra, which led to a two-day hospital stay.
