A giant python was found resting under a car's bonnet in India.

The vehicle's owner, Astik Tripathi, turned on the engine and he heard unusual sounds. Upon opening the hood, he was stunned to discover the massive serpent.

The incident occurred in Shivdhariya village of Bhaluani, Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh, on October 21.

Astik promptly alerted the forest department, who rescued the 10ft reptile.

Pythons are among the world's largest snakes known for their constricting abilities. They are non-venomous and typically subdue their prey by wrapping around and squeezing it. They can prey on a variety of animals, including humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats, and other snakes.
