Locals stunned by huge python caught in India
Villagers were stunned after discovering a massive python in northern India.
The colossal reptile, resembling an anaconda, was found in a cowshed in the Sundernagar subdivision of Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh, on September 9.
Footage shows a group of eight to ten men carrying the 12ft Indian Rock Python in Baroti Village, Daehr Tehsil. Each person held a different part of the python's body, their faces reflecting a mix of effort, concentration, and awe at its sheer size.
The serpent's distinctive pattern of dark brown and olive green scales glistened in the sunlight.
Onlookers in the vicinity watched in awe and a hint of fear, some even holding their breath.
The Suchet Forest Division was promptly notified, and a team was dispatched to the area to rescue the reptile.
The Indian Rock Python is a non-venomous snake known for its significant size and strength, which make it capable of constricting and subduing large prey. It is a protected species in India, and ongoing conservation efforts are underway to safeguard its habitat.
