In a recent interception at an airport in northern India's Delhi, customs officials detained a passenger for attempting to smuggle 408 grams of gold. The seized items included four gold bars, with two of the bars concealed inside a milk powder box.

The incident took place at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi district on November 7.

Visuals showed customs officers thoroughly inspecting the passenger's belongings. Officials opened the milk powder box in the passenger’s presence, revealing the concealed gold bars within.

According to reports, the operation unfolded when the passenger arrived from Riyadh, drawing attention during a routine customs screening due to suspicious behavior. Further investigation is underway under the Customs Act, 1962, as customs authorities emphasize their commitment to strict enforcement against smuggling activities and upholding security at the airport.
