This is the heartwarming moment a helpful pet dog carried groceries home in China.

The hardworking Golden Retriever was spotted by passersby trotting down the street, holding a basket of green vegetables in its mouth in Changsha, Hunan, on November 27.

Amusing footage shows the canine wagging its tail as it walks along the road.

The sight prompted onlookers to turn their heads in awe as the dog turned onto another street.

The filmer said: 'The dog was so intelligent and so cute. I wish I had a dog like that, so I could train it to do the same.'
