Kansas City, United States - November 30, 2024 On Saturday, November 30, just before 8:00 am, Master Trooper Garver and a Kansas City Kansas Police Department officer were struck on southbound I-635 at State Avenue while responding to a non-injury crash amid a snowstorm. As the officers worked the scene, Master Trooper Garver noticed an out-of-control vehicle rapidly approaching on the icy roads. He quickly warned the KCK officer to “watch out” and fled the area. The officer attempted to move their emergency vehicle but could not avoid the oncoming cars in time. Despite the collision involving two law enforcement vehicles and a civilian car, no one was injured. The incident serves as a stark reminder to slow down and move over for first responders as winter weather sets in.
