Fall River, United States - December 10, 2024 A bizarre series of events unfolded on December 10 night when 33-year-old Robert Langlais fled from police officers executing a search warrant and became stuck inside a chimney. According to Fall River police, Langlais and another man were on the roof of a Canal Street residence when they attempted to evade arrest. One man escaped by jumping onto a parked car and fleeing over a fence, but Langlais chose to hide inside the chimney. Body-worn camera footage shows officers approaching the chimney, yelling for Langlais to show his hands, only to realize he was trapped. Fire and EMS crews responded to the scene to free him from the narrow space. Langlais was taken to a hospital for evaluation, medically cleared, and arrested on drug possession charges, as well as charges from outstanding warrants. Police also arrested 32-year-old Tanisha Ibay on drug charges. Authorities have not confirmed if Langlais or Ibay have legal representation.
