Saint Lucie, United States - December 15, 2024 A dramatic rescue unfolded on December 15th when a 53-year-old man, thrown from his jet ski in rough waters near the St. Lucie Inlet, was found clinging to rocks and saved by the US Coast Guard and Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). Joseph Baricklow of Lake Placid was reported missing after witnesses found his abandoned jet ski. Deputies and various MCSO units launched a search, eventually locating Baricklow on the rocks off the north jetty. Due to the perilous conditions, the US Coast Guard deployed Aviation Survival Technicians, who successfully hoisted Baricklow into a helicopter and transported him to safety. Baricklow was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and authorities hailed the rescue as a remarkable display of teamwork between local and federal agencies.
