Stranded climbers were rescued by helicopter from rocks in Italy.

The three adventurers were struck by falling rocks during an excursion on Monte Sciguelo in Cogoleto on December 14.

Two sustained minor injuries while a young woman in the group was hit on the head and lost consciousness.

Authorities received a call about the incident, prompting them to immediately reach the group with a helicopter.

Footage shows ground rescue teams and speleological experts - scientists who study caves and karst topographies - providing first aid.

The victims were then airlifted to safety, and one of them, who sustained major injuries, was sent to San Martino Hospital.
