A restaurant in Taiwan employed a robot to slice noodles.

Shanxi Tomato Beef Knife Noodles used the machine to save time cutting dough in Taichung on December 15.

Footage captured by Wu Qiwei shows the robot in action, slicing dough with its mechanical arms, while the noodles are tossed into the boiling wok.

The restaurant owner said: 'It saves us a lot of time making noodles. We serve many customers, and this is one way we can ensure fast service.'

In recent years, companies and businesses have been increasingly employing robots as mountain porters, cooks, servers, and waiters.

China and other countries are in a tech 'arms race' with the West, including Elon Musk in Texas, over the development of robotics.

The rivalry between Musk and companies in China stems from broader competition for leadership in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and automation — fields that are critical to the future of manufacturing, consumer technology, and space exploration.

Both Musk and several Chinese tech giants are striving to dominate these industries.

Musk, who played a prominent role in the recent U.S. election victory of Donald Trump, recently unveiled Optimus, a multifunctional assistant that can handle household chores, play with children, and assist with various repetitive tasks.
