Two bulls locked horns outside shops, damaging parked motorcycles and a glass door in India.

Footage shows the bovines fighting for dominance by trying to push each other down in Jharkhand.

One of the cows was overpowered by its opponent and shattered through the ATM centre of a Bank of Baroda branch.

The losing bovine escaped and dashed amid traffic, sent scared onlookers and motorists fleeing for safety while others tried to guide them away with a stick.

Both bulls disappeared into alleys while heavy traffic built up in the area.

India has hundreds of thousands of cows roaming its streets.

It is party due to devout locals who follow Hindu customs, with cows regarded as sacred animals that cannot be eaten or slaughtered once they have stopped producing milk. The majority of states ban the sale or slaughter of cows.

Instead of dealing with the economic burden of keeping their spent cattle, many farmers let the beasts roam the streets - leading to chaos when the animals become agitated and turn their fury on humans.
