Eaton Fire tore through homes as the death toll rose to five in Los Angeles, California.

The blaze broke out in the hills above Altadena on Tuesday night, January 7, prompting evacuation orders.

Dramatic footage captured by Kaleo shows the out-of-control blaze with smoke surrounding destroyed structures on January 8.

Kaleo said: 'Total devastation from the Eaton Canyon Fire in Altadena/Pasadena.

'Altadena County Club and the densely surrounding homes are gone. Pray.'

Cal Fire reported that the flames had burned at least 13,609 acres by Thursday, destroying an estimated 5,000 structures.

Several firefighters have been injured while combating the flames.

President Trump had previously before the election blamed state officials in California for mismanaging irrigation and water supply, which has caused dry conditions ripe for wildfires to spread.

He reiterated the criticism yesterday, slamming Governor Newsom for 'refusing to sign the water restoration declaration' in order to protect a 'worthless fish'.

Eaton Fire is one of five wildfires currently ravaging the region.

The Palisades Fire had burned more than 19,000 acres by Thursday with zero containment, destroying approximately 5,300 structures and becoming the most destructive wildfire ever recorded in Los Angeles County.

The Hurst Fire has scorched more than 855 acres since Tuesday night and is currently 10 percent contained. The Lidia Fire, which started Wednesday afternoon, has consumed 348 acres and is 40 percent contained.

The Woodley Fire and Sunset Fire have reportedly been contained, with evacuation orders lifted.
