Three giant pythons were found hiding in a drain at a Buddhist temple in Thailand.

A monk noticed the pipe cover being pushed and damaged at Wat Laem Sak in Krabi on January 16. Upon closer inspection, he saw a serpent inside and initially thought there was only one.

He quickly alerted emergency responders for assistance in capturing the reptile.

Rescuers and police removed the pipe, only to discover three pythons inside the cramped space, each measuring approximately 9.8ft long (3m).

Footage shows authorities struggling to capture one of the massive snakes before placing them in a sack for release back into their natural habitat.

It took them an hour to carefully retrieve all three, which authorities suspect were possibly mating.

Pythons are nonvenomous constrictors that prey on rodents, birds, lizards, and mammals. They lack venomous fangs and consume their prey whole by swallowing it.
