STORYLINE:

The ongoing Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) attracts many customers with its ample collections of made-in-China products.

The fair, the biggest annual month-long event in Bangladesh, kicked off on Jan. 1.

"This fair is part of our tradition and culture, and everything updated and modern is available at this fair. I come to this fair every year and I like to visit it. I see new stalls and products from different countries. Chinese products are very good, and we get them at reasonable prices. This building (fair venue) is new, so it's good for us. Many thanks to the Chinese for constructing this building and giving us such good facilities."

SOUNDBITE 2 (Bangladesh): MAKSUDUR RAHMAN, Stall owner
"I have brought many products from China for this trade fair. My products include fashion jewelry, ornaments, children's ear clips, ear bands, ladies' bags, etc. I have been doing business with China for about 10 to 15 years. The demand for Chinese products in Bangladesh is very high if an importer brings unique products and maintains high quality."
