The National Guard cleared bushes to help prevent wildfires in California.

Authorities began fire prevention efforts through brush clearing as part of Task Force Rattlesnake in Los Angeles on January 18.

This joint initiative between the California National Guard and Cal Fire focuses on reducing wildfire risks by managing vegetation in high-risk areas.

The operation takes place as wildfires continue to affect Southern California, including the Palisades and Eaton fires.

As of Tuesday, Cal Fire data showed the Palisades Fire was 63 per cent contained, and the Eaton Fire was 89 per cent contained.
