A motorcycle rider was flung through the air after colliding with another vehicle at a junction.

Dashcam footage shows a motorist trying to cross a lane to the other side of the intersection when he crashed with a two-wheeler in the island of Phuket, Thailand on January 23.

His side smashed with the front of the other motorist and was sent hurtling 25ft (8m) away.

He lay on the ground while the other motorbike flipped over at least three times along the road in front of shocked drivers stopped on the other side.

Mild Nopphawan whose dashboard camera recorded the scene said: 'It happened in front of Phuket Villa Chaofah 2 housing estate. Accidents happen frequently there because there is no traffic light.'

Both motorcycle riders were rushed to Dibuk Hospital. Nurse Orawan Sangthong said: 'Both of them were safe and recovering.'

The motorcycle rider's aunt Arnon Chadsrang said: 'I would like to thank those who helped and sent encouragements to my nephew.'
