Playful baby elephant climbs all over visitor
A playful baby elephant climbed all over a visitor at an animal camp in Thailand.
Footage shows the energetic little jumbo walking over to a girl sitting on the floor in Chiang Mai on February 10.
The baby elephant sniffed around her shoes as she rubbed its tummy to befriend it.
However, when the jumbo was comfortable with her, it tried to climb on her back prompting a caretaker to assist as she fell on her back.
Caretaker Sukalya Wimanthong said: 'The baby elephant wanted to play with the lady.'
Thailand has up to 4,000 elephants in captivity. Many work in the tourism industry at camps, sanctuaries or resorts, or varying ethical standards.
The main threats to wild elephants in the wild are habitat loss and fragmentation, poaching, and conflict with humans.
