Indian 'deer whisperer' has spent three decades communicating with bucks and does
An Indian 'deer whisperer' has spent three decades communicating with bucks and does.
Anuradha Rao, also known as the 'Deer Woman', has dedicated years bonding with deer in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India.
Footage shows the wildlife lover feeding the hoofed creatures at a park.
The tamed animals can be seen surrounding her.
Among the dozens of deer on the island, she has been taking care of two, both aged 17 years old and weighing 70 kg and 75 kg.
Anuradha said she is a fourth-generation resident of the region.
Her family history goes back to when her relatives were exiled to the Andamans, while the British were trying to develop the country.
She said: 'My ancestors were sent to this island as prisoners before the country's separation from the British Crown.
'I remember the days when I was a kid, feeding the deer I encountered. I spent years earning the deer's trust by spending time with them, understanding their habits, and providing them with care.'
Tamed deer often develop a strong bond of trust with their human caretakers. This trust is built over time through consistent feeding, care, and gentle interactions.
