A woman was startled when a tree snake emerged from her air conditioning unit in Thailand.

Waraporn Deesawang, 45, turned on the air cooling system in her bedroom after returning home from work in Ayutthaya on the evening of February 21.

She then heard a strange noise coming from the unit, followed by the sudden appearance of a green snake, prompting her to urgently call for rescue.

Emergency responders arrived and discovered a shed skin from a snake, indicating its previous presence in the appliance.

Footage shows a mechanic disassembling the system and finding a large uncovered hole on the rear side of the air conditioner, where it connected to the external condensing device.

It is believed the animal slithered in from outside and became trapped when the lid was closed.

Rescuers opened the cover, allowing the snake to emerge. After over 30 minutes of capturing it, the reptile was secured in a plastic bottle. It is suspected that it entered the vent in search of geckos.

The snake, measuring approximately 2ft (23.6 inches), was released back into its natural habitat.

The Golden Tree Snake is a mildly venomous reptile that is active during the day and primarily feeds on lizards and frogs.
