Two hikers were rescued after surviving a night of blizzards in the Spanish mountains.

The pair had been missing since Sunday, March 2, after failing to show up at the Laguna Grande de Gredos refuge, where they had a booking.

Authorities, including helicopter teams, began searching for the duo, but extreme weather conditions hampered the operation on Sunday night.

Dramatic footage shows mountain specialists navigating through rugged terrain during an evening snowstorm.

The following morning, mountain rescue teams from El Barco de Avila, Navacerrada, Riaza, and Arenas de San Pedro joined the search.

Guardia Civil located the hikers in good health, and they emerged unscathed from the incident.

Officials later confirmed that the mountaineers had spent the night in a nearby shelter.
