On 3rd March, in a sports park in Maoming, Guangdong, a young girl became trapped inside a sand separator while playing in the sandpit area out of curiosity.

The sand separator, a metal device used to filter out impurities from sand, has a complex structure. After climbing inside, the girl found herself stuck as the narrow space left her unable to free herself, making it appear as though she was wearing "iron shorts."

Her parents attempted to pull her out but were unable to free her. Realising the urgency, they called the fire and rescue services for assistance.

Firefighters arrived quickly and first calmed the girl to prevent panic and injury. They then placed fabric between her skin and the metal to avoid abrasions before carefully cutting through the metal structure with a grinding tool.

Thanks to the swift rescue operation, the firefighters successfully freed the girl. A medical check confirmed that she was unharmed.
