Quick-thinking drivers used sand to extinguish a jeep's engine fire at an off-road race.
Footage shows the engine compartment of the black parked car burning at Hunshandake Desert in Hebei, China, on February 8.
This prompted the car owner to immediately open the bonnet as smoke billowed from it.
His friends rushed in to help, grabbing handfuls of sand to smother the flames.
Moments later, they successfully put out the fire before working on repairs.
The filmer said: 'It was terrifying because it could have exploded. We're glad they managed to extinguish it.'
