Orphaned dog adopted by Thai princess now flies on a private jet
An orphaned dog is now living a life of luxury as she rides a private jet with a Thai princess.
The devoted canine named Moo Dang was found sleeping on the streets after her owner died of illness in Nakhon Ratchasima, northeast Thailand, last year.
She was seen waiting every day at the entrance to a 7-Eleven store where her master would take naps with her. Locals even dubbed her a real-life Hachiko - the Japanese Akita dog that waited in the same spot for 10 years for his late owner, Hidesaburo Ueno, a professor at the University of Tokyo.
However, Moo Dang is now living the high life after being rescued from the streets by Princess Siribha Chudabhorn from the country's billionaire royal family.
The humble pooch underwent rehabilitation after spending months sleeping in front of a local convenience store. Now, she has gone from the streets to the skies, enjoying a private plane ride as part of the royal family's entourage.
Footage shows Moo Dang being cradled by the princess on a flight to their home in Chiang Mai province in the north of the country on March 11.
The princess said: 'It's Moo Dang's first time on a plane. It was a bit of a ruckus. She was so excited that I had to hold her. She was so chubby and slid around a few times. But in the end, she enjoyed the view.'
Moo Dang was later seen tuckered out in bed and sound asleep after her first flight.
She was dubbed the Hachiko of the country as she continued waiting for her dead owner - a homeless man who used to take naps with her in front of the convenience store - as market vendors and store staff fed and gave her shelter.
Moo Dang's heartwarming display of unwavering loyalty touched the hearts of the locals - including Princess Siribha Chudabhorn, the eldest daughter of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak.
The princess had arranged for Moo Dang to be picked up from the convenience store on January 22. The pooch now lives a life served with the finest cuts of Wagyu for dinner, along with receiving daily massages and baths with shampoo imported from Japan.
Hachiko was an Akita dog in Japan known for his remarkable loyalty to his owner, Hidesaburo Ueno, a professor at the University of Tokyo.
Even after Ueno's death in 1925, Hachiko continued to wait for him daily at Shibuya Station for nearly ten years, becoming a symbol of enduring devotion.
