Meet Karumbi, the world’s shortest goat, hailing from Kerala’s Idukki district.

Owned by Peter Lenu, a mechanical department teacher from Kuttikkanam, Karumbi is a Canadian pygmy goat known for its genetic dwarfism. Despite her small stature — standing just 1 foot 3 inches tall — Karumbi has achieved big recognition.

Lenu says he always knew Karumbi was small but didn’t expect her to set a world record. It was only after encouragement from others that he decided to apply for the Guinness World Record.

Born in 2021, Karumbi is now four years old and is currently pregnant. In addition to Karumbi, Lenu’s farm is home to sheep, cows, rabbits, chickens, and ducks.

Karumbi’s remarkable size has now put Kerala on the global map — proving that great things truly do come in small packages.
