Police recover handgun after disorder led to a shooting at Tesco Express in Birmingham, England
West Midlands Police officers and forensics at a Tesco Express on the Stratford Road in the Hall Green area of Birmingham on Saturday night (29 March).
Officers were called to disorder on the Stratford Road at 7.40pm where a crime scene was placed around the shop. A 21-year-old man and a 29-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and possession of a firearm.
Forensic officers photographed the car park, finding 2 bullet casings.
They also recovered a smartphone from inside the shop and a specialist firearms officer wore a forensic suit to retrieve a black handgun from inside a white BMW i4 Gran Coupe which had both front windows smashed.
West Midlands Police said in a statement: Two men have been arrested after shots were fired in Hall Green.
We were called at around 7.40pm last night (29 Mar) to reports of disorder on Stratford Road. A firearm was discharged but thankfully no one was injured.
Shortly afterwards, officers detained two men from a vehicle on Coventry Road.
A 21-year-old man and a 29-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and possession of a firearm.
They remain in custody for questioning.
