A UN cargo plane scraped along the runway when its nose gear collapsed during landing.

The De Havilland Dash 8 aircraft executed an emergency belly landing at Aden Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu, Somalia, on April 1 at 11:16 local time.

Footage shows the nose gear of the plane on the ground while emergency responders and airport personnel assist the crew members on board.

The aircraft, bound for Baidoa City, had 22 crew members aboard. All personnel were safely evacuated.

The Somali Civil Aviation Authority reported that there were no casualties from the incident and that the damage to the aircraft was minimal.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine the cause of the nose wheel failure, while the airport resumed operations shortly after what happened.

On January 18 last year, a UN-contracted Fokker 50 cargo plane crashed while landing at Eelbarde Airstrip in Somalia's Southwest State.

The aircraft, transporting humanitarian supplies for the World Food Programme, veered off the runway, resulting in one fatality and two injuries.
