US, Los Angeles: Sun Valley Woman Stuck By Vehicle With Sound On Tape
Los Angeles, United States - March 31, 2025 03/31/2025 10:50 pm (GMT-0700) SUN VALLEY, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A woman in her late 60s was struck by a vehicle in a crosswalk at the intersection of Strathern Street and Vineland Avenue in Sun Valley Monday night just before 11 p.m. Witnesses told Key News Network that the woman, known as Ginger, was crossing Strathern under the pedestrian walk signal when an eastbound vehicle hit her, sending her tumbling into the roadway. Witnesses reported that Ginger suffered serious injuries, including visible avulsions to her forehead and nose, accompanied by major hemorrhaging. Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department treated her at the scene and transported her to Holy Cross Hospital, where her condition remains unknown. A friend of Ginger's who witnessed the collision described her as using a cane and moving slowly to cross the street. He stated that she began crossing when the walk signal was illuminated but believes the traffic lights may have changed, granting a green light to the vehicle before Ginger could safely make it across. Ginger's friend said she frequently takes this route, often heading to a smoke shop just before closing. He also mentioned that Ginger had recently recovered from another automobile collision that had left her in a neck brace for several months. LAPD Valley Traffic investigators were at the scene piecing together the exact circumstances. Traffic to and from Bob Hope Airport was not affected.
