Birmingham residents queue as far as the eye can see to empty their bins as Bin Strike continues
Residents have queued for as far as the eye can see to drop their rubbish off at a temporary refuse collection site on Friday 4 April morning.
Vehicles were bumper to bumper stretching along Clapgate Lane running up to Woodgate Valley Country Park, a nature reserve, where they dumped their bin bags to be put into a bin wagon.
The scenes were more organised than previous days, although the traffic added an hour onto many peoples journeys.
Birmingham City Council placed the city into a Major Incident to try and clear the backlog of waste after bin workers have been on strike since January 2025.
