Reckless anglers were spotted stranded on giant ice floes alongside their cars.

Aerial footage shows a four-wheeler partially submerged in the icy waters of Magadan Oblast in Russia, on April 7.

Another vehicle was seen marooned in the middle of the thawing bay as the frozen surface began to give way.

Tyre tracks were visible on several ice floes, where several vehicles had managed to cross before becoming stuck.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations said warnings had been issued, but dozens of cars still ended up stranded.

Officials had ordered a number of fishermen and their vehicles off the ice, but some returned later on foot.

No serious injuries were reported. However, the vehicles were left behind on the drifting ice.
