This is the shocking moment an unruly elephant attacked a pickup truck in Thailand.

Plai Hong Thong, the mischievous jumbo, attempted to push the grey vehicle out of a parking area in Trat Province on April 7.

Upon seeing this, locals immediately shouted at the tusker to stop what he was doing. It briefly glared at them before backing away.

Footage shows the animal walking off after being shooed.

No one was reportedly harmed in the incident.

Thailand has up to 3,500 elephants in the wild. The population has been increasing in recent years, but it is still a fraction of the estimated 300,000 wild elephants that lived in the country at the beginning of the 20th century.

The main threats to wild elephants in Thailand are habitat loss and fragmentation, poaching, and conflict with humans.
