A pet German Shepherd named Johnny is being hailed as a local hero in Gujarat’s Morbi district after he bravely saved his owner from a violent robbery attempt by three unidentified assailants. The dramatic incident took place around 2 a.m. on April 12 in Mitana village under Tankara tehsil and was caught on CCTV.

The victim, Amit Theba, a farmer who also provides decorated horses for weddings, was attacked by three men at his farmhouse. CCTV footage shows the assailants surrounding and assaulting him. Despite being tied, Johnny began barking furiously when he sensed his owner was in danger.

Drawing courage from his dog’s reaction, Amit managed to break free and untied Johnny. Once unleashed, the fearless dog charged at the attackers, forcing all three to flee the scene without stealing anything.

Tankara DSP Sameer Sarda said the attack may have been motivated by a personal dispute. Police have registered a case and are analyzing CCTV footage to identify the suspects. No arrests have been made yet.

After the incident, Amit shared heartfelt videos playing with Johnny, expressing deep gratitude. The dog’s heroic act has gone viral on social media, with users applauding his loyalty and courage.

Johnny, a foreign breed, has since become a beloved figure in the village—earning praise as not just a good boy, but a true hero.
