Hero guard dog saves owner from home robbers in India
This is the dramatic moment a hero dog saves its owner from a group of home robbers in India.
CCTV footage shows victim Amit Theba rushing frantically toward the fence wall of his farm in Mitana Village, Tankara, Gujarat, on April 12, seemingly trying to escape from the suspects.
Reports said Amit was ambushed by three assailants who attacked him at his remote farmhouse.
The next clip shows Amit seeking shelter behind his loyal German Shepherd, Johnny, as the robbers circle him around 2 am. Although tied, Johnny began barking furiously when he sensed his owner was in danger.
Encouraged by his canine's reaction, Amit managed to break free and untie Johnny. Once unleashed, the pooch charged at the attackers, forcing all three to flee without stealing anything.
Tankara DSP Sameer Sarda said the attack may have been motivated by a personal dispute. Police have filed a case and are analysing the footage to identify the culprits.
German Shepherds are generally considered good guard dogs due to their natural protective instincts, loyalty, and trainability. They are often used as police dogs and are known for their ability to defend their family and property.
